"Filler Up, And Check The Oil", the story of Herman Birnschein's time in Egg Harbor. In 1931 Herman built his three bay service station where he not only pumped gas, but sold Chevies and much more. The stone structure located at the intersection in downtown Egg Harbor has been preserved and redone into retail shopping. Herman was involved in many of the Harbor's activities making for good history stories. The presentation on Herman's life is available in the History Room at the Kress Center. It's local history told by locals...if you missed it the first time, or wish to see it again, check out the history center or send us an Email eggharborwihistory@gmail.com.
